Thanks to Our Amazing Sponsors, Golf ‘Fore’ Health Raised over $29,000 to Support Health In Curry County
It was a perfect day on the links. Health outcomes in Curry County just got a boost…because so many people had so much fun. What? The 2nd annual Golf ‘Fore’ Health tournament was a roaring success, raising over $25,000 for health, wellness, and safety in Curry County. Along with an endowment, Curry Health Foundation will be giving out grants this fiscal year that surpass $1 million in giving to nonprofits
This year’s tournament surpassed last year’s with 20 teams including volunteer firefighters from Brookings-Harbor and many more. Brookings Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram provided our hole-in-one prize of a Dodge Durango. Larry Weston, manager of McKay’s in Brookings, personally bought everyone’s lunch of tri-tip and chicken with all the trimmings and cooked it himself.
The foundation said it cannot thank the 26 sponsors enough for their generous support. The prize, raffle, and auction donors surpassed themselves this year with some amazing trips, baskets, and merchandise. The volunteers who helped serve and organize brought it all together seamlessly. There are so many amazing businesses and people in Curry County who work so hard to support our health and safety nonprofits.
Congratulations to the winning teams: 1st place tie between the Garth Foskettand Remax Brookings teams; 2nd place tie between Gold Beach Lumber teams 2 & 3 (sorry team 1!) and 3rd place went to the team from Vista Pathology. Congratulations to all.
Special thanks to our volunteer photographer, Brittney Houghton, who captured it all on camera in such a beautiful and professional way. We really cannot thank everyone enough for making this such a success.
Curry Health Foundation is a nonprofit, 501.c.3 not associated with Curry General Hospital. We raise money and give grants to our partner nonprofits in Curry County who support health, wellness, and safety, including volunteer fire departments, women’s and children’s shelters, nursing education, library programs, senior centers, search & rescue, and many, many more.
