Raised on the east coast, Mary Stansell has been living on the south Oregon Coast for over 25 years. She and her husband Les, a custom guitar builder, make their home in Pistol River. Their two daughters Laura and Jennifer were raised in Gold Beach, attended local schools, and graduated from college with honors. Mary and Les were extremely pleased with the education their daughters received in Gold Beach. Their older daughter Laura, has two sons, Dylan and Kyler.
Mary served as an elected member of the Central Curry School District for many years, and currently serves as a volunteer member of the Budget Committee. She and Les founded the Pistol River Concert Association, a concert series that has been bringing high-quality music to the local community for over twenty years.
Prior to beginning her career as a Realtor with Century 21 Agate Realty in Gold Beach, Mary spent 12 years working for the Forest Service. “I enjoy being able to share my love for this area with visitors and new people moving into the area,” stated Mary.
Mary is the recipient of the 2007 Gold Beach Citizen of the Year Award.
